Many people like to blogging.
However, not many people know that you can actually make money from blogging. And by “make money”, I mean a full time income.
You can make money from blogging in two ways. The first way is to put ads on your pages and in your posts. The second way is to link to affiliate products in your blog posts.
There are many different types of ad networks, the most popular being Google AdSense. The amount of money you can make from AdSense depends on a lot of factors, from the keywords that your blog targets to the amount of traffic that your blog receives.
AdSense code is a snippet of invisible code that you install into your blog that will translate into ad boxes. You don’t have to worry about picking relevant ads for your blog, as Google will do this automatically for you once the code is inserted.
Whenever someone clicks on one of the ads, you’ll get credited an amount of money to your account, usually ranging from a few pennies to a few dollars depending on the factors I spoke about above. Many people have created full time income generating blog empires from AdSense alone.
The second way to monetize a blog is by inserting affiliate links in your posts. You can sign up to be an affiliate with a variety of different companies. They will give you a link to post on your website and whenever someone clicks on that link and makes a purchase, you’ll receive a portion of the profit.
Some affiliate products only pay a few dollars while others pay hundreds of dollars. The links that you post should be relevant to the post topic. For instance, you wouldn’t insert an affiliate link selling women’s pumps in a post about potty training your puppy.
You can use both of these methods in unison or choose to only use one or the other. This will really depend on what type of niche blog you’ve created. Either way, if you set up your blog right, you can set yourself up with a full time income.
